Alvin L. "Bo" Smith

Alvin L. “Bo” Smith, 69 of Gilbert, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to join his loved ones waiting for him in heaven, on Thursday, July 1, 2010, from Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born at Bruno on November 10, 1940, he was the son of the late Hurst and Ada Grimmett Smith.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son, Darren Keith Smith; three sisters:  Betty Jo Hatfield, Juanita Calhoun, and Sheila Carter; and two brothers:  Junior Smith and Jack Smith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory and to carry on his legacy include his loving wife, Helen Louise Cline Smith of Gilbert; his son Steven Smith of Gilbert; his two brothers:  Don and Ronald Smith; his three sisters:  Shelby Suggs, Celia McCoy, and Patty Toler; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family, to celebrate “Bo’s” life, at the Horsepen Southern Baptist Church at Hampden, on Monday, July 5^th from 11 am  to 1 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 5^th at the Horsepen Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Brian E. Warden officiating.

Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery at Hampden.

He will be carried to his final resting place by: Kenny Smith, Bill Cantrell, Alonzo Smith, Paul Hatfield, Jamie Ward, Brandon McCoy, Garland Collins, and Tony Roberts.

Honorary Pallbearers are:  Dock Grimmett, Eddie Grimmett, Ken Hatfield, Michael Caldwell, Bobby Dean Cline, Marvin Lafferty, and Glenn Fields.
