Bertha Mae Dean

Bertha M. (Bowens) Dean, 63 of Riverview "Slabtown" section of Gilbert, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to join her loved ones waiting for her in heaven, on Thursday, December 10, 2009.

Born at Man on June 11, 1946, she was the daughter of the late William and Hester (Blankenship) Bowens.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Dean and one brother, Walter Bowens.

Bertha was a loving mother, grandmother, fiancée, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was a homemaker, a born again Christian, and a member of the Riverview Freewill Baptist Church.  She had a golden heart and a loving smile for everyone.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are:  her loving son, William Michael Dean of Riverview; her precious grandson, Jerrod Dean of Gilbert; her sister, Virginia (Eugene) Adams of North Carolina; her fiancé, Bennett Morgan of Riverview; a very special niece, Ann (Terry) Nagy of Rock Creek; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Riverview Freewill Baptist Church at Riverview "Slabtown" section of Gilbert on Sunday, December 13th after 6:00pm.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 14th at the Riverview Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Browning and the Rev. Tilly Walls officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hollywood Cemetery at Gilbert.

She will be carried to her final resting place by family and friends.
