Eugene Hulen Grimmett

On Friday, May 7, 2010, a child of God, Eugene Hulen Grimmett, 55, of Accoville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to join his loved ones waiting for him in heaven, from Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born on March 17, 1955, at Bruno, he was the son of the late Teddy Ray and Letty Pearl Ellis Grimmett.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Grimmett; one baby sister, Patricia Grimmett; and one grandchild, Levi Eugene Grimmett.
Eugene was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, son-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He thoroughly enjoyed life as a Christian, serving in many capacities in the Freewill Baptist denomination. He served as treasurer of the Huff Creek conference for many years and served as a deacon in the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church for 17 years. His music ministry blessed many people as “The Grimmetts” sang and worshipped in many churches. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to love and cherish his memory and to carry on his legacy include his loving wife of 35 years, Karen Miller Grimmett of Accoville; his two wonderful sons: Jonathon (Shannon) Grimmett of Robinette and Timothy Joel (Carrey) Grimmett at Moneta, VA; his two precious granddaughters: Jodi Brook and Mackenzi Paige; his precious mother-in-law, who was his fishing buddy, Teena Miller of Amherstdale; his five brothers: Sherman (Margaret) and Jackie (Sheri) Grimmett, both of Christian; Arlon (Joan), Dallas (Teresa) and Terry Grimmett, all of Bruno; his five sisters: Shelby (Buddy) Ellis and Reba Mitchell, both of Bruno, Cora Deflumeri of Greenville NC; Wanda Gibson of Landville, and Sharon Layne of North Spring; and a host of nieces, nephews, other dear family, and friends, who he loved very much.
Friends may gather with the family at the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church at Bruno on Tuesday, May 11th from 6 to 11 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 12th at the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Cantrell, Rev. Tilly Walls, and Rev. Linzell Walls officiating.
Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby Heights, Pecks Mill.
He will be carried to his final resting place by his nephews and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are: Larry Mullins, Joe Layne, Kelly Smith, Rick Browning, Keith Cline, Bob Frazier, Kenny Smith, Jake Smith, Joseph Miller, Bubby Baisden, Ozzie Burgess, and Ronald Walls.
