James Russell "Jimmy" Collins

James Russell “Jimmy” Collins, 45 of Oceana,  went home to be with the Lord, on Monday, January 4, 2010, from his residence.

Born at Man on February 19, 1964, he was the son of the late William Henry and Minnie Magdaline Ward Collins.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Ann “Trish-Ann” Runyon and one brother, William Aaron “Bill” Collins.

Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  He loved fishing and would do anything for his family.  He was a disabled supervisor for Pallet Resources in Lexington NC.  He was a born again Christian of the Baptist Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are:  his loving wife of 23 years, Lucille Lester Collins of Oceana; his loving daughter, Brandy Nicole Collins of Oceana; his beloved son, James “Jay” Collins of Oceana; his precious granddaughter, Anna; his four sisters:  Mitzi Paynter of Gilbert, Margaret Cline of Justice,  Felicia Wright of Barboursville, and Kathy Berry of Man; his two brothers:  Garland Lee Collins of Green Valley and Lonnie Collins of Elk Creek; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of other dear family and friends whom he loved dearly.

Friends may gather with the family at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Saturday, January 9^th from 6 to 9 pm.  A service will be held at 7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 10^th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Campbell and Rev. Jackie Grimmett officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lester Family Cemetery at Joe Point of Hanover.

He will be carried to his final resting place by:  Garland Collins, Jr., Eugene Ellis, James Walker, Mark Lester, David “Dink” Lester, and Jeff Hayes.

Honorary pallbearers are:  Garland and Lonnie Collins, Robert Runyon, Jr., Billy Paul Collins, Titus Perry, Steve Walden, and David Price.
