Joan Gail Compton

Joan Gail Compton, 74 of Isaban, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to join her loved ones waiting for her in heaven, on Sunday, March 7, 2010, from Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born at War Eagle on November 10, 1935, she was the daughter of the late James and Ruby Weiss Daniels.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Ann Compton; one sister, Telisha Ann Cook; one granddaughter, Tonya Ann Compton; and one son-in-law, Cletus Lester.
Joan was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a homemaker and a member of the Isaban Church of God. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish her memory are her loving children: James (Helen) Compton, Barbara (Jeff) Lester, Richard (Tammy) Compton, Joe (Linda) Compton, Danny (Sherri) Compton, Daniel (Donetta) Compton, and Brian Compton, all of Isaban, Ella (Lonnie) Blevins of Welch, Mary (Darrell) Asbury of Hurley VA, Randy (Lesa) Compton of Baisden, and Amanda (Mac) Thomas of North Carolina; her brother Kenneth Daniels of Princeton; her sister Shelby Music of Bluefield; her 21 precious grandchildren: Tonya, Chris, Kim, Jason, Tracie, Adam, Nicholas, Jamie, Deidra, Bradley, Darrin, Matthew, Nathan, Emily, Josh, Alyssa, Larinda, Briana, Zack, Jacob, and Mack; her 13 wonderful great grandchildren: R. J., Taylor, Sarah, Savannah, Sydney, Mallory, Miranda, Austa, Ethan, Dakota, Haley, Gracie, and Noah; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends may gather with the family at the Isaban Church of God on Tuesday, March 9th after 6 pm with a service at 7 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 10th at the Isaban Church of God with the Rev. Tom Fife officiating.
Burial will follow in the Four Pole Cemetery at Mohawk.
She will be carried to her final resting place by Nathan, Josh, Jason, Adam, Nicholas, Matthew, Rick, R.J, Jamie, Darin, and Bradley.
