Lois Marie Walls Harper

A sweet and loving mother, Lois Marie Walls Harper, 70 of Ona, formerly of Gilbert, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, April 3, 2010, from St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington.

Born at Leatherwood on September 13, 1939, she was the daughter of the late William Edward and Mattie Marie Mitchell Walls.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Amos Harper; one son, William Harper; two sisters:  Lucy Toler and Emogene Walls; and one brother Verlin Walls.

Lois was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was a 1958 graduate of Gilbert High School and a graduate of Marshall University with a Bachelor’s Degree.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are:  her four sons:  Michael and Mark Harper of Gilbert; and Verlin and Jonathan Harper of Stony Point NC; her two daughters:  Julia Trent of Prichard and Christina Harper of Ona; her ten wonderful grandchildren; her two precious great grandchildren; her brother, Fred Walls of Bruno; her five sisters:  Juanita Colangelo of Amelia OH, Freda Murphy of Andover Mass, Maxine Maynor of Spice Creek, Alice Ellis of Varney, and Brenda Anderson of Oceana; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel at Gilbert, on Tuesday, April 6^th from 6 to 9 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, April 7^th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Browning officiating.

Burial will follow in the Skyline Cemetery at Justice.

She will be carried to her final resting place by family and friends.
