Mildred Ann Edwards

A sweet and loving child of God, Mildred Ann Edwards, 55 of Varney, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her loved ones waiting for her in heaven, on Monday, June 21, 2010, from her residence. 

Born on March 12, 1955 at Iaeger, she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Fannie Patrick Browning.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Clinton Browning and one sister, Shelby Stanley.

Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her wonderful family and friends. She was of the Pentecostal Faith attending the Faith Church of God at Ben Creek.   She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to love and cherish her memory and carry on her legacy include her loving husband of 35 years, Pearley D. Edwards of Varney; her two sons:  David Wayne Edwards and special friend Tracy Cowden of Huntersville NC, and Scotty Edwards of Varney; her daughter, Rachel Browning of Huntington; her five precious grandchildren:  Heather Breanna Edwards May, Timylia Edwards May, and Ciara Browning, all of Wharncliffe, and Jayden and Brian Browning of Huntington; her six brothers:  Joda “Bud” (Wilma Faye) Browning, John L. (Ruth) Browning, Darrell “Jack” Browning, Wayne (Gail) Browning, Jr., and Michael (Doris) Browning, all of Wharncliffe, and Alex “Tippy” (Natisha) Browning of Justice; her seven sisters:  Ima (Danny) Ward, Gail Morrison, Sheila (Mark) Morrison, Wilma Browning, and Connie (Tim) May, all of Wharncliffe, Carol Mounts of Baisden, and Brenda (Ervin) Wallace of Dunlow; her special friend, who was like a sister, Candy Edwards Cisco of Varney; her special nephew, Kevin Urban of Varney; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family to celebrate Mildred’s life at the Faith Church of God at Ben Creek, on Wednesday, June 23^rd from 6 to 9 pm.  A service will be held at 7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 24^th at the Faith Church of God with the Rev. Danny Ward and Rev. Denny May officiating.

Burial will following in the Browning Family Cemetery at Wharncliffe.

She will be carried to her final resting place by family and friends.
