Mildred “Toots” Miller Browning passed away Friday, May 14, 2010, at the Williamson ARH Hospital.
She was born on May 6, 1920, in Glen Alum, WV to Richard “Dick” Miller and Minnie Toler Miller.
She loved being a nurturing mother to her children, cooking, sewing, crocheting, shopping, embroidering, reading her Bible and going to church. She always had a wonderful sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her father Dick Miller and her mother Minnie Miller; son Richard Browning, brothers Raymond Miller and Jim Miller; and sisters Louise Piskrowski and Ruby Adkins.
Mildred is survived by her children: one daughter Arlene Newkirk (Joe Withington) of Desoto, MO, and her children Jim Newkirk of Hillsboro, MO, Larry Richard Newkirk and Keith Newkirk both of Desoto, MO; daughter Brenda Joyce Whited (Bill Whited) of St. Louis MO, and her children Cindy Whited of St. Louis, MO, Milicent Schnoring of Fenton,, MO, and Todd Whited of Branson, MO; children of Richard Browning are Deanna Schuchmann of Lake St. Louis, MO, Scot Browning of St. Louis, MO, and Melody Clooney of St. Louis, MO; Larry Browning (Nancy) of Wharncliffe, WV, and his children Tracy Browning of Wharncliffe, WV, Darby Browning of Wharncliffe, WV, and Paul Browning also of Wharncliffe, WV; Judith Kay Simpkins (Robert Simpkins) of Collinsville, IL, and her children Robert L. Simpkins III of O’Fallon, IL, Benjamin Paul Simpkins of Collinsville, IL, and Jill Simpkins also of Collinsville, IL; Mildred’s great grandchildren are: Taylor Browning Bour, Kyle and Hannah Schnoring, Madeline and Olivia Whited, Nicole and Jacob Newkirk, Kelly Dollar, Joseph Schuchmann and David Browing, Justin and Miller Brown, Zachary Kirk, Wesley Dingess, Maria Browning, Leslie Varney, Robbie and Clay Simpkins; great great grandchildren are Ella and Chloe.
Friends may gather with the family at the Wharncliffe Church of God at Wharncliffe on Wednesday, May 19th from 6 to 9 to celebrate her life.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 20th at the Wharncliffe Church of God with Bro. Bobby Dix Miller officiating and the eulogy being given by Roger Adkins.
Burial will follow in the Dix Browning Cemetery at Wharncliffe.
She will be carried to her final resting place by: Zachary Kirk, Miller and Justin Brown, Benjamin Simpkins, Bill Whited, and Paul Browning.
The family of Mildred Browning invites everyone to a “dinner on the ground” at the Ben Creek Mountaineer Park following the closing of the grave.
