Nora May "Penny" Hatfield

Nora May “Penny” Hatfield, 74 of Hampden, departed this life on Friday, December 4^th, 2009, at Williamson Memorial Hospital.

Born at Varney on March 19, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Burgess and Mary Tiller Brewer.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Hayes Hatfield; one brother, Chief Brewer; and one sister, Mary Ellen “Sissy” Shultz.

Penny was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was a homemaker and of the Old Regular Baptist Faith.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are:  her two sons:  J B Hatfield of Gilbert and Okey Hatfield of Forest Hill, KY; her two daughters:  Tomalene Green of Greenville, Michigan and Jackie Hatfield of North Spring; her eight grandchildren:  Brittany Tanelle and Jeremia Hayes Hatfield both of Gilbert, Jennifer Blankenship of Man, Regina Hatfield of Hanover, Toni Fay McCoy of Hanover, Donovan Hatfield of Hanover, Penny Morgan of Ohio, and James Biddel of Ohio; her many great grandchildren, her two brothers:  Jack (Wanda) Brewer and Jesse Brewer both of Georgia; her three sisters:  Rita Joe (Daniel) Thomson, Linda (Tom) Daniels, and Deloris (David) Hatfield; her sister-in-law, Josephine Brewer of Pigeon Creek; her niece, Connie Starr of Pigeon Creek; her special friends:  Connie Hatfield, Ricky Toler, Sue Glandan, Iva Hatfield, David and Carol Hatfield, and Bertha Lester; a personal and close friend, artist Michael Combs; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Tuesday, December 8^th from 6 to 9 pm.  a service will be held at 7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Diamond Carter, Elder Paul McClanahan and Elder Frank Newsome (both of Virginia) officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at Sharon Heights at Hampden.

She will be carried to her final resting place by her family and friends. 

Honorary pallbearers are:  Ricky Toler, Rodney Adkins, Mike Adkins, and Terry Samons.
