A sweet and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, niece, and friend, Rebecca Lynn Varney, 32 of Mallory, departed this life on Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Born on October 14, 1977 at Man, she was the daughter of the late Roger Buck and Phyllis Jean Vance Elswick.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Phyllis Jean Varney; her maternal grandparents, Homer and Sarah Vance; and her paternal grandparents, Buck and Gracie Elswick.

Rebecca was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, niece, and friend.  She had a kind and giving heart and loved to help others.  She was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith.  She loved spending time with her precious family and friend and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to love and cherish her memory and to carry on her legacy include her loving husband, Daniel Varney of Green Valley; her two precious daughters, Cheyanne and Danielle Varney of Green Valley; her two step-sons:  James and Evan Varney; her sister, Marlena (Timmy) Burns of Green Valley; her two nieces Donna Robinson and Destiny Elswick of Green Valley; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Gillman Bottom Freewill Baptist Church at Gillman Bottom to celebrate Rebecca’s life on Thursday, June 3^rd, from 6 to 9 pm with a service at 7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 4^th at the Gillman Bottom Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Isom officiating.

Burial will follow in the Home Sweet Home Cemetery at Elk Lick on Buffalo Creek.

She will be carried to her final resting place by family and friends.
