Rev. Earl E. Ferguson, 77 of Horsepen, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, November 20, 2009, from Williamson Memorial Hospital.
Born on June 7, 1932, in Mingo County, he was the son of the late Jesse and Stella Smith Ferguson.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers: Garland, Kenner, Junior, Ray, Hayes, and William Ferguson.
Earl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church and he pastured many other churches. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are: his loving wife, Mary Belcher Ferguson of Horsepen; his beloved children: Rev. Earl David (Brenda) Ferguson of Varney, Dreama (Doug) Hatfield, Jimmy (Vicki) Ferguson, Donald (Sharon) Ferguson, Ronnie (Melanie) Ferguson, Larry Ferguson, and Teresa Ferguson, all of Gilbert; his six precious grandchildren: David Jr., Gabriel, and Daniel Ferguson, Stephanie Cline, Douglas Dewayne Hatfield, and Tiffany Paynter; his five wonderful great grandchildren: Molli and Ashton Ferguson, Hunter Cline, Payton Cline, and Haleigh Hatfield; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends may gather with the family at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer at Hampden on Sunday, November 22nd after 6 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, November 23rd at the Church with the Rev. Denny May, Rev. James Ellis, and the Rev. Diamond Carter officiating.
Military grave rite services will be performed by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #141 of Belfry Kentucky.
Burial will follow in the Hatfield Family Cemetery at Gilbert Terrace, Hampden.
He will be carried to his final resting place by: David Jr., Gabriel, and Daniel Ferguson, Douglas D. Hatfield, Michael Cline, Homer Blankenship, Jr., and Audie Blankenship.
Honorary pallbearers are: Robert Perry, Raymond Grimmett, Frenchie Duty, Diamond Carter, Lowell Smith, Garfield & Doug Hatfield, Calvin Wiley, Elmer and Bill Ferguson, and Homer Blankenship.
