Thurman A. Hurley

Thurman A. Hurley, 68 of Panther, went home to be with the Lord, and to join his loved ones waiting for him in heaven, on Wednesday, February 17th, 2010, from his residence.

 

Born at Panther on February 26, 1941, he was the son of the late Garfield and Renia Justus Hurley.

 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two sons:  Roger Thurman and Jeffrey Scott Hurley; and one brother, James Hurley.

 

Thurman was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  He was a retired coal miner and owner and operator of Hurley Cable Vision.  He was a member of the Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church at Hurley Virginia.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

 

Those left to love and cherish his memory are:  his loving wife, Sue Hurley of Panther; his three brothers:  Elbert Hurley of English, Herbert Hurley of Roderfield, and Luther Hurley of Bowerston Ohio; his sister, Nadine Henderson of Mohawk; his three precious granddaughters:  Nikki Hurley of Hanover and Sophia and Emily Hurley of Columbus Ohio; his two wonderful grandsons, Adam and Justin Hurley of Columbus Ohio; his wonderful great grandson, Logan Hatfield of Hanover; his precious great granddaughter, Brooke Hurley of Columbus Ohio; and a host of other dear family and friends.

 

Friends may gather with the family at the Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church at Hurley Virginia on Friday, February 19th and Saturday, February 20th, after 6:00 pm.  A service will be held at 7:00 pm both nights.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Sunday, February 21st at the Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders David Lester, George Thomason, and Danny Hurley officiating. 

 

Burial will follow in the Noah Justice Cemetery at Mud Fork on Bull Creek.

 

He will be carried to his final resting place by family and friends.
