Troy Blankenship, Jr.

Troy Blankenship, Jr. 84 of Baisden, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, February 26th, 2010 from Cornerstone at St. Mary’s Medical Center at Huntington.

Born at Baisden on October 25, 1925, he was the son of the late Troy and Rosa Hatfield Blankenship.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Deloris Chambers; two brothers: Clinton and John Blankenship; and six sisters:  Pearl Cline, Dale Glanden, Ida Cline, Hettie Huff, Lydia Blankenship, and Laudia Lester.

Troy was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  He loved taking care of his bee’s; hunting’ gardening’ playing his guitar, watching Nascar, and spending time with his wonderful family and friends.  He was a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA, and of the Baptist faith.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to love and cherish his memory and to carry on his legacy include his loving wife of 63 years, Causby Ritchie Blankenship of Baisden; his beloved son, Bob (Jane) Blankenship of Ashland KY; his two wonderful grandsons:  Nicholas Blankenship of Ashland KY and Brandon Chambers of Baisden; his two precious granddaughters:  Maya Blankenship of Ashland KY and Benita Chambers of Baisden; his four brothers:  Delmar (Shirley) Blankenship of Baisden, Rayburn (Betty) Blankenship of Pigeon Creek, Drew (Joan) Blankenship of Gilbert, and Delmar (Debbie) Blankenship, Jr. of Gilbert; his sister, Nina Faye (Dexter) Cline of Baisden; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church at Baisden on Sunday, February 28th from 6 to 9 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 1st at the Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders Hobart Hamilton and Gary Young officiating.

Burial will follow in the Blankenship Cemetery at Baisden.

He will be carried to his final resting place by family and friends.
