Wanda Lee Lester

Wanda Lee Lester, 54 of Landville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, November 19, 2009, from Logan Regional Medical Center, following a long illness.

She was born on November 15, 1955, at Man, a daughter of Leander Hatfield and the late Janice Boggess Hatfield.

In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Bruce and Rosie Carter Hatfield; her maternal grandparents, Ed and Wilma Lester Boggess; and her brother, Michael Bruce Hatfield.

Wanda was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was a former employee of Man Hospital and member of the Christian Freewill Baptist Church.  She loved spending time with her grandkids, her family, and her friends.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are:  her loving husband of 36 years, Kenneth Lester of Landville; her two sons:  Gary (Rhonda) Lester of Man and Joey (Angel) Lester of Landville; her daughter, Robin Lester of Landville; her four sisters:  Kay Justice of Cooks Addition, Vickie (Benny) Grimmett of Landville, Lisa (Timothy) Browning of Whitman, and Tonya (Bob Belcher) Hatfield of Danville; her two brothers:  Danny (Lisa) Hatfield of Hunt and Gregory (Lorrie) Hatfield of Louisburg, NC; her grandson, Justin Lester; her granddaughter, Alyssa Lester, both whom she adored; a special sister-in-law, Brenda (Bill) Blankenship; and several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Christian Freewill Baptist Church on Monday, November 23rd after 6:00 pm with a service at 7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 24th at the Christian Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Johnson and Pastor Joaquine Ooten officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dye Cemetery at Verner.

She will be carried to her final resting place by:  Keith, Greg, Benny, Timmy, Little Keith, Little Greg, Jeremy, Tyler, and Michael.

Honor pallbearers are:  Lowell, Louie, Darrell, Dennis, and Richard Walls, Kenny Roberts, Cecil Bobbett, Fred Hatfield, Ronnie and Bill Browning, Buel and Frank Lester, Lamuel Ward, and James Belcher.
