Judith Karen (Aker) Hatfield, 77 of Wharncliffe, departed this life for her heavenly home on Monday, February 26, 2024, leaving from Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on September 18, 1946 at Glen Alum, she was the daughter of the late William Ray and Hattie P. (Bragg) Aker.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother: Bill Aker; sisters: June Aker and Barbara Justice.
Judith was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Judith attended Berea College in Berea, Kentucky. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was well known for her love of her childhood home, Glen Alum, WV. She worked to create the Glen Alum Memories Website, as well as plan many yearly reunions for the Glen Alum Community. She loved bringing people together to honor and cherish her childhood memories.
Those left to love and cherish the precious memories of Judith include her loving husband of 54 years: Roger Hatfield of Wharncliffe; son: John (Kim) Hatfield of Pleasureville, KY; daughter: Stacy Nicole Hatfield (Barry Browning) of Wharncliffe; grandchildren: Blake Hatfield of Pleasureville, KY, Grace Hatfield, and David Hatfield, both of Wharncliffe; sisters: Wendell House of Sneads Ferry, North Carolina, and Pat (Bill) Walker of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Judith also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, along with a multitude of very dear friends.
Friends may gather with the family Friday, March 1, 2024 from 12:00 till 1:00 pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home, where funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm with Rev. Danny Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Family Cemetery at Justice, WV.
Judith will be carried to her resting place by her family and friends.
Judith was a loving, forgiving, and gentle soul. She will be deeply and dearly missed.
