Sherry Ramsey Obituary

Sherry Lee Ramsey, 61 of Cyclone, WV passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2024 at Logan Regional Medical Center.

Sherry was born September 17, 1962 in Columbus, Ohio.  She was the daughter of the late Rev. Harrison and Joyce (Grimmett) Williamson.

In addition to her parents Sherry was also preceded in death by her brother: David Allen Williamson; her niece: Adrianna Caldwell; maternal grandparents: Winfred “Bo” and Doris (Mosley) Grimmett; paternal grandparents: Ransom and Jettie (Ferrell) Williamson; aunts: Pearl Hall, Donna Brown, Barbara Browning; uncles: Paul Williamson, Floyd “Jim” Williamson, Bob Williamson, Ransom “Yank” Williamson, and Eldred Williamson; cousins: David Brown, Benny Grimmett, Jr., Donald Sparks, and Ronnie Williamson.

Sherry was a 1980 graduate of Man High School.  She was active in Softball, Cheer, Acrobats, Jazz, and Baton.  She won Homecoming Queen at Hamilton School in Columbus, Ohio, and she won Prom Queen at Man High School.  While living in Columbus, she had her first job baby-sitting.  She was taught to work hard for what she needed and wanted in life. To make extra money for ballgames, skating, movies, and entertainments, she would catch night crawlers and sell them “lol” Ha Ha.  After graduating she worked many jobs and met many special friends and clients along the way at Logan Mingo Mental Health, Rescare, and many other jobs.

Sherry was a member of the Pathway Church of God for many years.  She led the youth group, drama team, taught Sunday School, and helped with dinners and fundraisers.  God led Sherry on a new path to the Campus Church of God where she found a new family and dear friends.  Sherry enjoyed traveling, the Island at Pigeon Forge, TN was her favorite vacation spot.  She enjoyed sitting in front of the fountain watching the water dance and eating at The Old Mill.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  Sherry never met a stranger and was always full of laughter with a smile most days.  She adored her oldest grandson, Aarion Canterbury, he was mamaws church boy; Annastyn Cheek was mamaws spunky and sweet girl; Hunter Osborne was mamaws smart, imaginative little man; Elijah Osborne was mamaws precious little cutie pie.

Those left to love and cherish her memory and mourn her passing include her loving husband: Nathan Ramsey of Cyclone, WV; daughters: Rebecca Williamson of Justice Addition, Logan, WV, and Haleigh Hager (William) Osborne of Davin, WV; stepdaughters: Alisha (Jr.) Mayer of Lewisburg, WV, and Shanda (John) Schull of Durbin, WV; in laws: Darrell and Melva Ramsey of White Sulphur Springs; brother and sisters-in-law: Darren, Amy, Vanessa, Alainna; 12 grandchildren: Aarion Canterbury, Annastyn Cheek, Hunter and Elijah Osborne, Cayden Schull (deceased), Isabella Spradling, Shaylynn Ramsey, Braeden “Bubby” Rexno, Corina “Tiggy” Moyer, Oakland, Erika and Blake Moyer (deceased); sister: Elizabeth Caldwell of Davin, WV; special brother-in-law: Bobby Caldwell Jr. of Weston, WV; nieces: Meranda and Harleigh Caldwell, both of Davin, WV; friend: Nicholas Plumley of Cyclone, WV; special aunt and uncle: Charlie and Brenda Williamson; special aunt: Lisa Brown, who was always as close as a sister; special friends: David and Julie Copley, Jadie Montgomery, Rhonda Adkins, Susie Blankenship, Alisha Martin, Angie Muncy, Justin and Tracy Spence, Melissa Ball Adkins, Sandy Maynard, Stacy Moore, Heather Peters, Ed and Charlene Hunt of Plain City, Ohio; all of her friends at Logan Landing.  She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other dear family and friends.  Sherry wanted to acknowledge a very special doctor and friend: Dr. Waris and his staff.

Friends may gather with the family Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 4:00 till 6:00 pm at the Campus Church of God, Cyclone, WV where funeral services will commence at 6:00 pm with Rev. Chelsey Noel officiating.  Final goodbyes will end in the parking lot with a song "I'll fly Away" while releasing a Dove, following with a dinner at the church for the family.

In honoring her wishes, Sherry will be cremated following services.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
