Alma Porter

Alma Porter, 74 of North Spring, went home to be with Jesus, Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from her daughter's residence. Born January 10, 1942 at Iaeger, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Josie (Huff) Trent. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband: Cleve Porter; her son: Cleve Porter, Jr; her granddaughter: Courtney Porter Smith; and her sister: Leona Christian. She is also preceded by a host of other relatives. Alma was a cook at the Justonian Restaurant for many years. She loved cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She was of the Baptist faith. Those left to love and cherish her memory are her daughters: Julia (Rex) Hatfield of Coal Mt, Kathy (Jeff) Walls of Spice Creek and Pamela (Leon) Cline of Rockhouse; her son: Frank (Carmella) Porter of Gilbert Creek; her grandchildren: Heather (Carlton) Hatfield of Fanrock, Katie (Larry) Brown of Spice Creek, Cindy Lester of Coal Mt, Tabitha (Chad) Brumfield of Spice Creek, Gilbert Smith of Huntington, Alexandra Cline (Jeff Brown) of Rockhouse, Trevor Porter (Savannah White) of Huntington and Austin Cline of Rockhouse; her great-grandchildren: Blake Brown, Alexis Brumfield, Caleigh Brown, Jayden Brumfield, Kyra and Brant Lester, Cansis, Cooper and Adison Hatfield, and Aria Emersyn Smith. She also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends. Friends may gather with the family Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 6 to 9 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will commence there at the chapel on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Walter Grimmett and Rev. Dave Porter officiating. Burial will follow in the Cline Cemetery at Cub Creek, Alma will be carried to her final resting place by her family and friends. Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
