Douglas Collins, 74 of Gilbert, departed this life Monday, February 6, 2017 from Logan Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones. Born January 29, 1943 at Man, he was the son of the late Harry and Lydia Simpkins Collins. In addition to his parents Doug was also preceded in death by his wife: Izetta Collins; daughter: Pamela Nagle; sisters: Jackie and Mae Collins; brothers: Raymond, Junior, Leeulin and Billy Collins. Doug loved to ride his RZR, and spend time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Browning Fork House of Faith. Those left to love and cherish his memory are his daughter: Lynn Collins; his sons: Sheldon Collins and Dennis (Julie) Collins, all of Gilbert, and Douglas (Robin) Collins of Kermit; his 6 grandchildren: Brandi (Jody) Walls. Jordan (Shannon) Collins, Cameron (Susan) Collins, Brittany (James) Edwards, Justin Nagle and Keegan Collins; his 6 great grandchildren; his brother: Richard (Debbie) Collins. Doug also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends. Friends may gather with the family Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 6 to 9 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Lowell Smith and Rev. Diamond Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery in the Browning Fork section of Gilbert. Doug will be carried to his final resting place by pallbearers: Cameron and Jordan Collins, Chris and Steven Belcher, Jody Walls, and Homer Hatfield. His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.

Visitation: Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 6 to 9 pm.
Funeral: Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
Place: Mounts Funeral Home Chapel.
