Julia Lester

Julia Lester, 86 of Baisden, went with the Lord on Monday, August 15, 2016 at Logan Regional Medical Center following a long illness. Julia was born September 11, 1929 at the home of her parents in Baisden. She was the daughter of the late Lee and Nettie Blankenship. In addition to her parents, Julia was also preceded in death by her brothers: Perry "Preach", Gary and Tommy Blankenship; her sister: Shelby Cline. Julia was a born again Christian. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Julia loved her exercise class at the Gilbert Presbyterian Church, which she had attended for 15 years. Those left to love and cherish the memory of Julia are her loving husband of 62 years: Donald Lester of Baisden; her daughter: Sherry (Joseph) Cline of Isaban; her son: Jeff (Sabina) Lester of Justice; her grandchildren: Paul (Melina) Cline of Ikes Fork, Michelle (Don) Browning of Verner, Joshua Lester of Baisden, Bonnie (Ricky) Ferrell of Browning Fork and Staci and Cameron Hatfield of Justice; her great grandchildren: Emily Browning, Chase and Braxton Cline, Brandon, Hannah and Bradley Ferrell; her 3 brothers: Clarence (Donna) Blankenship of North Carolina, Rebel (Shirley) Blankenship and Clyde (Lana) Blankenship all of Baisden; her sister: Connie (Dave) LePard of Michigan. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear relatives and friends. Friends may gather with the family Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 12 to 2 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence at 2 pm with the Rev. Clifford Rawls officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee Blankenship Cemetery at Baisden. Julia will be carried to her final resting place by: Clinton Lester, Tim Rutledge, Joshua Lester, Cameron Hatfield, Donald Browning and Zach Kirk. Julia's wonderful smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed by those who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
