Obituary

Lorraine Morgan Collins, 61 of High Point North Carolina, departed this life on Monday, December 19, 2011, at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina.

Born on May 18, 1950 at Big Branch, she was the daughter of Mavis West Morgan and the late Cecil Morgan.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by one daughter, Amy Collins.

Lorraine was a retired nurse of 20 years and enjoyed going out to eat, watching TV, playing on the computer and visiting with family and friends.    She was of the Baptist faith and married James Collins on April 24, 1976.  

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Lorraine and to mourn her passing include her husband, James Collins; her mother, Mavis Morgan of Thomasville NC; her son, Raymond Paul Collins of High Point NC; her daughter, Lisa Hatfield of High Point NC; her two sisters:  Loretta Morgan and Marlene Daniels, both of Thomasville NC; a special little girl, whom she considered a granddaughter, Mahayla “May May” Pinion; her two nephews, Kevin and Ed; her niece, Brandy; her great nephew, Michael; her four grand nieces:  Victoria, Gracy, Harley and Celsey; three special families:  Dan and Erica Stillman and kids, Nick and Cassie Gibson and kids; and Jenny and Garrett Westmark and kids; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Thursday, December 22nd from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 23rd at the West Morgan Cemetery at Long Branch of Simon with the Rev. Gary Browning officiating.

Lorraine will be carried to her final resting place by her family and friends. 

She is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
