Obituary

Marie Chapman, 90 of Gilbert, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to join her many loved ones waiting for her in heaven, on Saturday, February 18, 2012, from Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan.

Born on November 30th 1921, at Nallan, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Cornelia Higginbotham Livingood.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Racy Chapman; one son, Nicky Ray Chapman; one grandson, Michael Donovan May; and her brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Margie Livingood.

Marie was a loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Horsepen Southern Baptist Church.  She enjoyed going to church and to church functions and taking care of her grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Marie and to mourn her passing include her daughter, Melanie (Ronald) Hess of Verner; her grandson, John (Connie) May of Baisden; her granddaughter, Angela (Steven) Pope of Gilbert; her four great-grandsons:  Robert (Kelli) May of Princeton, Nicholas May of Baisden and Kyle and Zachary May of Man; her great-granddaughter, Kayla May of Verner; her great-great-grandson, Cameron Gerace of Verner; her nephews:  Randy (Vivian) Livingood and sons, Jeremy and Justin of Gilbert and Eddie (Gay) Chapman and children: Douglas (Samantha) Chapman, Missy (Dewayne) Cline and Vicki (Warren) Brown of Baisden; and a host of great nieces, nephews, and a supportive church family and many, many friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Horsepen Southern Baptist Church at Hampden on Wednesday, February 22nd from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 pm.

Funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm at the church with the Rev. Brian Warden officiating.

Burial will follow in the Justice Memorial Gardens at Justice.

Marie will be carried to her final resting place by her family and friends.

She is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
