Mickey Hatfield

Mickey Hatfield, 72 of Mingo County, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 17, 2017, passing away peacefully at his residence. Born July 18, 1944 at Man, WV, he was the son of the late Walter and Marie Hatfield. In addition to his parents, Mickey was also preceded in death by one younger brother, Doug Hatfield. Growing up in the hills of West Virginia, Mickey was always a lover of the great outdoors. Throughout his life, Mickey's passions included Jesus and the Bible, bowling, genealogy, lean manufacturing, and so much more. As a direct descendent of Valentine "Uncle Wall" Hatfield, brother to William Anderson "Devil Anse" Hatfield, Mickey was proud of his deep West Virginia roots, and felt it a fitting final resting place. Those left to love and cherish the memory of Mickey and to mourn his passing include his sons: Brett and Marshall; his daughters: Kelly and Lydia; his brother: Walter Glenn Hatfield of Gilbert; his sisters: Waletta Simpson of Gilbert and Audrey Workman of Royse City, TX; as well as grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other dear relatives and friends. Friends may gather with the family Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Diamond Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at Sharon Heights, Hampden, WV. Mickey will be carried to his final resting place by family and friends. His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
