Billy Ray Blair

Billy Ray Blair, 36 of Delbarton, departed this life Sunday, November 24, 2019 from Williamson Memorial Hospital.

Born on July 24, 1983 in Missouri, he was the son of Debbie (Chapman) Blair and the late Jerry Blair.

In addition to his father, Billy was also preceded in death by his uncle: Wayne “Pappy” Browning; grandfather: Howard Chapman; grandmother: Shirley Blair; step-grandchild: Ayden Chase Carroll; best friend: Mikey Butcher.

Billy enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with his family and friends.  He was of the Church of God Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his loss are his wife: Melissa (Lester) Blair of Varney; mother: Debbie Blair of Delbarton; children: Charles Mikey Blair and Billy Blair, both of Varney, Tyler Messer of Ragland, T.J. Terry Smith Jr, of Newtown, Whitney Carroll of Williamson, Tara Leeann Smith of Raglan; step-grandchildren: Aurora “Bug”, Alayah, Nevaeh, Joe Joe, Ryker Allen, Brooklyn and Hailey; sister: Katherine Blair White (Wiley Teeters) of Varney; special friend and brother-in-law: Russell Pedro Lester, Jr., of Varney; grandmother: Catherine Chapman of Ranson, KY.; special nephew: Jerry Allen Teeters; special aunt: Avolelle Browning; uncles: Bud Chapman, Albert (Rhonda) Chapman, David (Sandy) Chapman, Charles Christian, Aiden Chapman, P.J. and Melinda Chapman; aunts: Pamela Chapman, Dochie Chapman; special cousins: Christopher Lester, Densel Joe Chapman, Rudy Varney, Shawn Chapman, Kathy Whitt, LaDonna Whitt, Gail and Jeff Carter (Brianna Carter); special friends: Lawrence White, Annetta Ferrell and Ranal White.  He also leaves behind a host of other nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 6 to 9 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will commence Friday, December 6, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary “Bo” Starr and Rev. Russell Prince officiating.  Burial will follow in the Blair Family Cemetery in Delbarton, WV.

Billy will be carried to his final resting place by pallbearers: Albert Chapman, Terry Smith Jr., Christopher Lester, Bud Chapman, Russell Pedro Lester Jr., Rudy Varney, Jordan Kolaff, Densel Joe Chapman and Shawn Chapman.

He may be gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
