Carlos Mounts Obituary

Carlos (Pedro) Mounts, 73 of Hanover, formerly of Gilbert, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and join his many loved ones waiting for him in Heaven, on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from CAMC Memorial, Charleston, WV.

Born July 16, 1945, at Wharncliffe, WV, he was the son of the late George and Inas (Stanley) Mounts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Marlene Roberts and Louise Campbell; his paternal grandparents: Leonard and Mae (Spratt) Mounts and is maternal grandparents: George and Alta (Bradford) Stanley.

Pedro was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

He was a retired coal miner, member of the UMWA, and a US Army Veteran.  He was a founding member of the Sharon Heights Assembly Church of Hampden, WV.

He loved spending time with family and friends and mostly playing his guitar in church, at family gatherings and to anyone who wanted to listen to him play.  He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.   

Those left to love and cherish his memory include his wife of 48 years, Loretta Hatfield Mounts of Hanover; his two sons: Michael Mounts and Dwayne (Crissy) Mounts of Gilbert; his two daughters: Bonnie Jo (Ken) Smith of Winfield, Connie Jo (Denny) Smith of Hanover; his grandchildren: Connor Mounts, Presleigh Mounts, Kelsey Mounts, Kinsey Mounts, Lainey Smith, Mandi Smith, Brady Smith and Dillon (Kelsey) Smith; one great grandson: Dawson Smith; two brothers: Charles Mounts of Gilbert, Donald Mounts of Ocala, Fl; four sisters: Sue (Curtis) Blankenship, Brenda Wilson both of Gilbert, Barbara (Bruce) Myers of Charleston, WV and Sharon (Eugene) Ellis of Denellon, FL; two special aunts: Virginia Testerman and Janice Gibson, and many, many friends.

Friends may gather with the family on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm with funeral services commencing at 3:00 pm at the Sharon Heights Assembly Church with the Rev. Arville Cline officiating.

Military services will be provided by The Disabled American Veterans, Chapter # 141 , Belfry, KY.

Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at Sharon Heights of Hampden, WV.

Pedro will be carried to his final resting place Michael Mounts, Dwayne Mounts, Ken Smith, Dillon Smith, Brady Smith and Denny Smith.

Honorary pallbearer will be his nephew J.R.

He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
