Davie Aaron Stone

Davie Aaron Stone, 70 of Hanover, WV departed this life on Friday, December 14, 2018 from Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born April 9, 1948 at War Eagle he was the son of the late Calvert & Dott (Lowe) Stone.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother.

Davie was a loving, son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.  He loved to go to the beach and spend time with his precious family.  He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle.  Davie served his country in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War.  He was a retired coal miner and was of the Baptist faith.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Davie and to mourn his passing include his loving wife: Rosemary (Berry) Stone of Hanover; his two daughters: Erin (Jimmy) Hatfield of Saulsville, Kathleen (Shawn) Bradley of West Liberty; four granddaughters: Molly Cook, Brooke Hatfield, Alivia Hatfield and Caroline Bradley; four sisters: Grethen (Richard) White of Gilbert, Kathy (Randy) Murphy of Beckley, Mitzie (Mike) Ward of Logan and Robin (Ricky) Hatfield of Gilbert; many nieces, nephews and a host of other dear family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks of appreciation to the staff and volunteers at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Friends may gather with the family on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Gilbert Church of God from 6-9 pm.  Funeral services will commence on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 12:00 pm at the church with the Rev. Gary Justice officiating.

Burial will follow at the Shannon Cemetery at Baileysville.

Davie will be carried to his final resting place by family and friends.         

His beautiful smile and tender heart will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
