Delores Stafford

Delores Stafford, 82, of Hanover, departed this life on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, from her residence.

Born December 16, 1935, at Big Branch, WV, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Gracie (Hatfield) West.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Arlan Stafford; one stepson, Gerald Stafford; one grandson, Heath Arlan Stafford; 2 brothers: Nathan and Roy West; and 3 sisters: Mavis Morgan, Alice Demona West, and Lilian West.

Delores was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved flowers and gardening and also spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to love and cherish her memory and mourn her passing are her two daughters: Terena (Tony) Hatfield of Coal Mountain and Arlena (Pete) Reyes of Gainesville, GA; her grandchildren: Robert (Carina) Reyes, Chelsea Reyes, Madison Hatfield, R.J. Stafford, and Amy Stafford; two great grandchildren: Deliah Reyes, Isaiah Reyes; her sister, Addie (Archie) Lester of Jacksonville, NC; special niece: Linda “Sissy Bug” (Gary) Browning of Hanover. Delores also leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family on Saturday, September 15, 2018, from 12-2pm at the Tamcliffe Tabernacle where funeral services will commence at 2 pm with Rev. Gary Browning officiating.

Burial will follow in the West Family Cemetery at Simon (Long Branch). Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
