Dessie Cline Obituary

Our Beautiful mother, Dessie Mae Cline, 87 of Baisden, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from Logan Regional Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with a lingering illness.

Born April 14, 1932 at Baisden, WV., she was the daughter of the late Estel and Alcie Ritchie.

In addition to her parents she was reunited with her loving husband Judd Cline whom I know she is rejoicing with today; three brothers: Virgil (Lennie) Ritchie, Hershel (Ruby) Ritchie and Steve (Terry) Ritchie; four sisters: Causby (Junior) Blankenship, Shelva Cline, Lennie (Ted) Long and Lilly Mae Ritchie; two nieces: Drucilla Lester and Lavonda Carter; one great niece: Courtney Smith and one brother in law: Emerson Thompson.

Mom was a wonderful and talented cook and quilter.  Anyone who ever saw her quilts and tasted her cooking can testify to that fact.  She was a faithful member of Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church where she loved to attend, work and sing for many years until her illness made it impossible for her to attend.

Mom was tiny but she was a fireball, who loved her family deeply.  She had a smile that could light up a room and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  Her passing has truly left us all heartbroken but we know she is rejoicing in Heaven with Dad and all her family now.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of mom and to mourn her passing include her three sons: Chris (Pam) Cline of Cross Lanes, Benjie (Tammy) Cline of Foster and Keith (Marsha) Cline of Baisden; one sister: Elva Thompson of Baisden; five grandchildren: Kristie Cline, Kandice (Wesley) Sparks, Brian (Rozie) Cline, Emily Cline and Matthew Cline; four great grandchildren: Grace Sparks, Gannon Sparks, Annabelle Cline, and Frederick Cline; special niece: Carmella (Frank) Porter of Baisden; special nephew: Drexel Cline of Gilbert and special neighbors: Ricky and Melinda Johnson of Baisden; many nieces and nephews and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church at Baisden from 12:00 – 2:00 pm.  Funeral services will commence on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 2:00 pm with the Elder Hobert Hamilton, Elder Gary Young, Elder Albert Cables and Elder Freddy Cline officiating.

Burial will follow at the Cline – Ritchie Family Cemetery at Baisden.

Dessie will be carried to her final resting place by family and friends.

She is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
