Dewey Carol New

Dewey Carol New, 71 of Baisden, departed this life Friday, February 1, 2019 from Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born on June 9, 1947 at Baisden, he was the son of the late Hersel and Nada (Kirk) New.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son: Jerry Kay New; his brother: Jean Hersel New; and three infant brothers.

Dewey enjoyed fishing, hunting and raising animals.  He was a member of the War Eagle Church of God.

Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his passing include his loving wife; Sharon Kay (Wallace) New; his children: Terry (Melissa) New, Tammy New, John New, Carolyn (Billy) Steele and Bobby New; sisters: Deloris (Danny) Mayhorn, Annette (Chucky) Morgan, Beverly (Jeremy) Gibson and Laura (Joe) Blankenship; grandchildren: Terry (Amanda) New Jr., Jerry Brett New, Bobby (Ashley) New, Joshua (Countney) New, Kisha (Shawn) Fyffe, Steven (Kendra) New, Jerry Justin New, Randy Ray McCoy, Jayden Cline and John Fredrick New Jr.; 10 great grandchildren.  He also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Full Gospel Church of God at Baisden, where funeral services will commence Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Jonas Trent and Bro. Ralphy Manuel officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Cemetery at Baisden.

Dewey will be carried to his final resting place by his family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are: Anthony Gibson, Rick Gibson and Big Bobby Lee New.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
