Elmer Ferguson

Elmer Ferguson, 75, of Browning Fork, departed this life Saturday, February 9, 2019 from his residence.

Born on March 9, 1943 at Hampden, he was the son of the late Kenner and Mina (Belcher) Ferguson.

In addition to his parents, Elmer was also preceded in death by his sisters: Marietta Ferguson and Flossie Ellis; his brothers: James, Kenneth and Billy Ferguson; granddaughter: Haley Ferguson.

Elmer enjoyed deer hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Ben Creek Free Pentecostal Holiness Church and of the U.M.W.A.

Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his loss are his wife: Marie (Sims) Ferguson of Browning Fork; his sons: Robert (Tammy) Ferguson of Wharncliffe, Greg Ferguson of Browning Fork and Kevin (Sabrina) Ferguson of Baisden; granddaughters: Lindsey (Gary) Morrison of North Matewan and Sarah Ferguson of Wharncliffe; grandson; Jordan Ferguson of Browning Fork; great-grandson: Cruz Morrison of North Matewan; sisters: Doris Trent of Hampden and Dreama Lester of Gilbert; brother: Johnny (Joyce) Ferguson of Hampden; special cousin: Johnny Belcher. He also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 12 to 2 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Denny May officiating. Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at Hampden, WV.

Elmer will be carried to his final resting place by Billy and Jacob Trent, P.J. Collins, Odell, Donald, Joe Bo and Greg Belcher and Bennie Belcher, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are Johnny and Herman Belcher, Bennie Musick, Ernie Gibson and Chad Sims.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
