Eunice Violet (Carter) May

Eunice Violet Carter May, 92, of Gilbert, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 2, 2018 from Logan, WV

Born on February 11, 1926 at Gilbert, WV, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Sally (Hatfield) Carter.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband: Sebert May; son: Darrell Douglas May; granddaughter: Shanda Gail May; grandson: Chris May; 8 brothers and 3 sisters.

Eunice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother.  She was a member of the Ben Creek Free Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are her 5 sons: Arnold Ray May, Denny (Nedra) May, Delmas (Donna) May, Larry (Tambra) May, all of Gilbert, and Harold (Addie) May of Summersville, WV.  She leaves behind a host of grand-great and great-great grandchildren, along with a lot of friends and other dear relatives, and a special care-giver: Christina Woolverton.

Friends may gather with the family Friday, April 6, 2018 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer Church at Hampden, where funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm with the Bro. Gary (Bo) Starr officiating.  Burial will follow in the Carter Family Cemetery at Browning Fork section of Gilbert.

Eunice will be carried to her final resting place by James Smith, Eddie Ray Smith, Tyler Dale May, Trevor Brayden Cline, Donovan Browning and Zach Hatfield.

She is gone from our midst but will live in our hearts forever.
