Goldie (Sparks) Dotson

Goldie Dotson, 90 of Delbarton, departed this life on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from The Logan Center.

Born October 7, 1927 at Vulcan, KY, she was the daughter of the late Robert & Missouri (Prater) Sparks.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Emmer Lee Dotson; two daughters: Shirley Hatfield and Delana Cantrell; three sons: Jeffery Dotson, Jerry Dotson and Darrell Dotson; grandson: Jamie Hatfield; two granddaughters: Tammy Cantrell, and Berniece Cantrell; four brothers: James Sparks, Arthur Sparks, Thomas Sparks and Junior Sparks.

Goldie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She enjoyed cooking and singing.  Goldie was of the Pentecostal faith.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Goldie and to mourn her passing include her son: Larry (Conda) Dotson of Justice; sister: Mary Lou Dawson of Dodson, NC; son-in-law: Richard Hatfield of Delbarton; 2 daughter-in-laws: Judith Dotson of Gilbert; Treva Hatfield of Wharncliffe; 8 grandsons: Brett Dotson of Justice, Brandon Dotson of Verner, Larry Dale Dotson of Charleston, Ricky Hatfield of Delbarton, Matt Cantrell, George Cantrell, Brian Cantrell and Banger Cantrell all of Wharncliffe; 3 granddaughters: Angie Dotson of Wharncliffe, Torri Dotson of Baisden, Amy Cantrell; several great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm at the Gilbert Church of God.  Funeral services will commence at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Lowell Sparks and Rev. Danny Ward officiating. 

Burial will follow at Hatfield Cemetery at Hampden.

Goldie will be carried to her final resting place by Brett Dotson, Brandon Dotson, Larry Dale Dotson, Ricky Hatfield, Jonathan Hatfield and Chris Hatfield.

Her tender heart and wonderful smile will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
