Harry Grimmett, 76 of Delbarton, departed this life on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from Pikeville Medical Center to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Born September 8, 1942 at Hampden, WV he was the son of the late Albert & Mary (Hatfield) Grimmett.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter: Tina Lewis; two brothers: Landon Grimmett and Harold (Shirley) Grimmett.
Harry was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was an active member of the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer and a 1960 Graduate of Gilbert High School. Harry enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Harry and to mourn his passing include his loving wife Carolyn Grimmett of Delbarton; his two sons: Robert (Renay) Grimmett of Hampden and Shawn (Michelle) Grimmett of Fairmont; five grandchildren: Robert (Sarah) Grimmett of South Carolina, Danielle (Larry) Wolford of Wharncliffe, Taylor (Vadym) Karchevskiy of Ashland, Tanner Grimmett of Hanover and Connor Grimmett of Fairmont; two brothers: Eddie (Karen) Grimmett and Lemuel “Doc” Grimmett both of Hampden; many nieces and nephews and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends may gather with the family on Wednesday December 19, 2018 at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer from 6-9 pm. Funeral services will commence on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Carl “Cab” Wolford and Brother Randall Stacy officiating.
Burial will follow at the Grimmett Cemetery at Hampden.
Harry will be carried to his final resting place by: Robert Grimmett, Robert Grimmett Jr., Shawn Grimmett, Tanner Grimmett, Clark Blackburn and Landon Grimmett. Honorary pallbearers include Eddie Grimmett and Doc Grimmett.
He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
