Harry Vance Obituary

Harry R. Vance, 89, gained his angel wings Saturday, December 28, 2019.  He was a resident of Wyoming Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of New Richmond, he was formerly of Justice, WV.

Born on February 6, 1930 at Hensley, WV., he was the son of the late Elijah and Ruby May (Justice) Vance.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Helen Brown Vance; grandson: Gary Joe Vance; brothers: Claude, Jim, Horace and Charles Vance; sisters: Pricie Dunnigan, Evelyn Perry, Carrie Wilburn, Betty Lou Ellis, Sylvia Vance, Mary Vanover and Ida Jean Vance.

He was a member of the Justice Church of God for 60 years. Harry was an Army Veteran.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his children: Theresa (David) Gibson, Kent (Jacquetta) Vance, Gary (Tammy) Vance, Lori Vance and Harry Glen (Nancy) Vance; grandchildren: Adrienne (Randy) Gilley, Amy (Chad) Sizemore, Natasha (Roy) Blankenship, Kenny (Karrie) Vance, Randy (Amanda) Gibson, James, Anthony and Steven Vance; great-grandchildren: Emmalee, Seth, Nathan, Starling, Bailee, Braxton, Brian, Kailee, Madison, Lilly, Hunter, Halen and Caroline; sister: Janice McCrary.  He also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 6 to 9:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence Friday, January 3, 2020 in the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 pm with Rev. Tim Shuff and Rev. Albert Cline, Jr., officiating.  Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery at Justice, WV.

Harry will be carried to his final resting place by his grandsons.  Honorary Pallbearers are Dan Wilburn, Sr., Paul (Glenna) Vance, Paul Reeves, David (Angie) Sparks and Ann Sutters.

His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.

Military honors will be performed by # 141 Disabled American Veterans, Belfry, KY.
