Hugh "Frog" Colangelo

Hugh “Frog’ Colangelo, Jr., 58 of Wharncliffe, departed this life Friday, April 13, 2018 from Cornerstone Healthcare at Huntington, WV.

Born on March 24, 1960 at Welch, he was he son of the late Johnny Gilbert and Sarah (Lewis) Colangelo.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister: Barbara Bolden; his brothers: Aaron Colangelo and Dennis Doss.

“Frog” enjoyed working with flowers, and he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially with his fur baby “Lily”.  He was of the Church of God Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his loss are his wife: Patricia Colangelo of Whancliffe; his children: Joseph (Betty) Colangelo of Pie, and Brian Keith Colangelo (Cassidy Browning) of Wharncliffe; his step-children: Harold “H” May and Paula Bench, both of Matewan; grandchildren: Megan, Melinda, Kyra and Ryan Colangelo, Isabell and Shawn Carter Bench, Hannah Edwards and Haylee New; sisters: Brenda (Edger) Cline and Kathleen Ellis Wolford, all of Wharncliffe, Sharon Doss of KY, and Aennone (Elaine) Gibson of N.C.; brother: Michael (Vickie) Colangelo.  He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Tuesday. April 17, 2018 from 6 to 10 pm at the Faith Church of God, Wharncliffe, where funeral services will commence at 1:00 on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 with the Rev. Danny Ward, Rev. Denny May and Rev. Gary Starr officiating.  Burial will follow in the Colangelo Cemetery at Wharncliffe.

“Frog” will be carried to his final resting place by  Harold “H” May, Burb Wolford, Danny Prater, Lee Ellis, Buck Cline, Brian Keith, Mikey, Travis and Ryan Colangelo.

Honorary pallbearers are: Shawn Carter Bench and Brian Keith Colangelo.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
