Ira Leon Cline

Ira Leon Cline 80, of Isaban, WV departed this life on Friday, September 20th, 2019 surrounded by his family at Logan Regional Medical Center.

He was born on February 22, 1939 in Brushy Fork Hollow near Isaban, WV. Ira was the son of the late Monroe and Lenore Cline.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Tenna Cline; sisters: Opal Dotson and Anne Blankenship; brothers: Donald Ray Cline, Larry Dale Cline, and Charles Cline; and his best friend: Charlie Coleman.

Ira worked hard labor to provide for his family all his life. He was a retired coal miner and member of the UMWA.   Ira was of the Church of God Faith.

His long life was a reward for all the love and care he provided for his family. He was a loving husband, a caring father, an amazing grandfather, and a doting great-grandfather. His greatest joys were his family and friends and all his cherished memories. He loved piddling around with different things, especially woodworking.

Ira leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Patricia Hileman Cline of Isaban, WV; son: Ira Leon Cline Jr.; daughter and son-in-law: Denna Cline and Delbert Eugene Little Jr., daughter and son-in-law Bessie Cline Mounts and Larry Mounts, and daughter and daughter-in-law Judy Cline and Debbie Lockhart; Granddaughters: Michelle Cline Wright and spouse Jason Wright, Samantha Boykin Chisley and spouse Monty Chisley, Natasha Cline and spouse Andrew Davis, Sarah Boykin, and Kimberly Cline and spouse Liem Pham;  great-grandchildren: Carolynn Chisley, Leon Le, Clyde Chisley, Micah Wright, and Landree Le. He also leaves behind adopted great-grandchildren and many other friends and family.

Ira had an infectious personality and touched the lives of all, leaving a lasting impression of kindness and humor. His wit and stories were quick to induce a smile from anyone he met. 

Ira's wife Patricia would like to give special thanks to her granddaughter Natasha Cline for all her compassion and kindness through Ira's lifetime and especially during the last month of his life. She would also like to thank her friends Meta Justice and Tammy Cline for their outpouring of support and prayer.

Services and visitation will take place at the Isaban Church of God, Isaban, WV on Monday, September 23, 2019 from 12 to 2:00 pm, where funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jeremy Compton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Brushy Fork Cemetery, Isaban, WV.

Ira will be carried to his final resting place by his family and friends.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
