Johnny Davis, 74 originally of North Springs, passed away on March 30, 2018 at CAMC Memorial Hospital.
Born September 25, 1943, at North Springs he was the son of the late Arlie “Buck” and Belva (Justice) Davis.
In addition to his parents Johnny was preceded in death by five siblings: Edna Hatfield, Cletus Davis, Dawn Cline, Douglas Davis and Patricia Cochran; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Connie and Vernie Mitchell.
Johnny was a retired coal truck driver and lived with the love of his life, his wife Phyllis. Johnny and Phyllis were married 53 years and resided in Gilbert.
Johnny was a longstanding deacon at Sprattsville Freewill Baptist Church. Johnny is a member of the Hanover Missionary Baptist Church, where he sings in the choir and worships his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Johnny enjoyed camping with friends and family, fishing, watching westerns and Nascar. He also loved spending time with his family and will be missed and cherished by a host of loved ones.
Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife: Phyllis Mitchell Davis of Gilbert; his daughters: Barb (Jim) Blankenship of Winfield, Belinda (Lionel) Walker of Princeton; and his two grandsons: Chris Blankenship and Conner Walker.
Friends may gather with the family on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 12:00 – 1:30 pm at the Hanover Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will commence at 1:30 pm with the Rev. Jackie Lester and Rev. Danny Mitchell officiating.
Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery at Gilbert.
Johnny will be carried to his final resting place by family and friends.
His loving smile and tender heart will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
