Joyce P. (Allen) Maynard

As the night darkness surrendered to the rising sun, with a great smile, Joyce relinquished her life on earth to begin anew in eternal heaven on Monday, July 1, 2019 at Dignity Hospice in Chapmanville, WV.
Formerly from Baisden, she resided her last years at Trinity Health Care in Logan, WV. As the first child of the late Noah & Lexie (Cline) Allen, she longed to have siblings growing up, but to no avail. After 22 yrs, siblings began to arrive. Her surviving sisters, Edwina Tomblin of Monaville & Sonora Perry of Cross Lanes, witnessed the final chapter of her life. Awaiting for her in heaven are brothers, Sebastian James Allen & Vaughan Regan Allen.
Joyce loved the Lord and worshipped throughout her life at the Old Regular Rosa Baptist and Gilbert Creek Baptist Churches with Pastor John Thompson assisting her until the end.
Joyce graduated Gilbert High School in 1958 then attended Concord College. Afterwards, she became the “Avon Lady”, helping the Gilbert Creek ladies in all their beauty aids. Later in life, she cared for family and friends as a Home Health Aide.
Her most important job in her life was that as Mother to sons Edward Kile Maynard, Noah Paxton Maynard, Prescott Burgess Maynard and William Orville Maynard. Several grandchildren continue on her legacy.
Family and friends are encouraged to attend “A Celebration of Life” on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 p.m.
