Lois Evelyn (Trusley) Burgess

Lois Evelyn Burgess, 93 of Gilbert, departed this life to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, June 10, 2019 from Dignity Hospice House, Chapmanville, WV.

Born July 31, 1925 at Laurel City, WV she was the daughter of the late Eli Martin & Alice Maude (Gillam) Trusley.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters: Willa (Raymond) Burgess, Eleanor (James) Ferrell, Coralie (George) Shivley, June (Acie) Adkins and Merle (Curtis) Adkins; brothers: Hugh (Oma) Trusley, Columbus (Violet) Trusley and Charles (Edie) Trusley.

Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  Lois was married to the love of her life Raymond Jackson Burgess Sr. for 75 years.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Verner.  Lois loved to bowl and fish.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Lois and to mourn her passing include her loving husband: Raymond Jackson Burgess Sr. of Gilbert; son: Jacky ( Glenetta) Burgess of Sprattsville; daughter: Carolyn Burgess of Sprattsville; two grandsons: Eric (Valarie) Burgess of Sprattsville and Brian Burgess of Cape Coral, Fl; three great grandchildren: Skyler (Rose) Burgess of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sarah Burgess and Sadie Burgess both of Sprattsville; many nieces and nephews and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel from 6-9 pm.  Funeral services will commence on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter Grimmett officiating.

Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.

Lois will be carried to her final resting place by family and friends.

Her beautiful smile and tender heart will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
