Lucille (Elswick) Stanley

Lucille Stanley, 89 of War Eagle, departed this life Sunday, September 29, 2019 from her residence.

Born on June 22, 1930 at War Eagle, she was the daughter of the late Ranse and Maggie (Justice) Elswick.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband: Lonzo Stanley; sister: Jean Hardin; daughter: Donna Cline; granddaughter: Megan Stanley; grandson: Adam Gibson.

Lucille was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, she enjoyed watching television programs and loved to travel.  She was of the Church of God Faith.

Those left to love and cherish her memory and to mourn her loss are her daughter: Connie Lee of War Eagle; her sons: Larry Stanley of Isaban and Bob Strickland of Gilbert; her grandchildren: Angela Johnson, Melissa Lester, Amanda Stanley, Rebecca Coleman, Courtney Lee, Amy Stanley, Daniel Stanley, David Cline, Easter Cline, Ashley Gibson and Paul Strickland; sister: Virginia Cline of Delbarton.  She also leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren, and other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 6 to 9 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where services will commence on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 2:00 pm with  Rev. Jeremy Compton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lee Family Cemetery at War Eagle.

Lucille will be carried to her final resting place by her family and friends.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
