Mansfield Colegrove

Mansfield “Thomas” Colegrove, 77, of Simon, departed this life on Friday, June 1, 2018, from Pikeville Medical Center at Pikeville, KY.

Born October 31, 1940, at Branchland, he was the son of the late Jerry and Alva (Adkins) Colegrove. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife: Donna Lee Colegrove; one brother, Robert Colegrove; and his best friend, Burley Morgan.

Thomas was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed talking on his CB radio, where he received the nickname “Robin.” He also loved spending time with his family and friends.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are four sons: Donald “Tombo” (Wanda) Colegrove, Mike (Regina) Colegrove all of Simon, Tony (Trish) Colegrove of Man, and Chris (Malina) Colegrove of Gilbert; eight grandkids: Jeramy, Tyler, Karissa, and Mykka Colegrove, LaDonna Ellis, Little Tony Colegrove, Brittany and Crystal Colegrove; eight great-grandkids; five sisters: Katherine Justice of Kentucky, Francis Mullins of Florida, Shelby Lawhun and Diane Queen both of Tamcliffe, and Myrtle Hunt of Lorado; one special friend, Little Roy Lee Blankenship of Simon. Thomas also leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family on Monday, June 4, 2018, from 6-9 pm at the Gilbert Church of God. Funeral services will commence on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at 1:00 pm at the church with Rev. Diamond Carter and Rev. Lowell Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
