Morris (Mars) Hatfield, 66 of Baisden, departed this life Friday, August 9, 2019 from Pikeville Medical Center.
Born on September 13, 1952 at Williamson, he was the son of the late Ezra and Arminda (Browning) Hatfield.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers: Danny and Lanny Hatfield.
Morris was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a retired Coal Miner and of the Pentecostal Faith. He loved fishing, riding his side by side, going to car races and spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his loss are his daughter: Greta (Erick) Cline of Baisden; his sons: Brett (Yesica) Hatfield of High Point, NC., Bartley (Nina) Hatfield of Wharncliffe; his grandchildren: Ranse (Amanda) Cline of Bull Creek, Joey (Tasha) Wolford of Wharncliffe, Nikita (J.R.) Ferrell of Horsepen, Austin Hatfield and Layla Hatfield, both of High Point, NC., Hunter Maynard, Kyle Stanley, Brantley Wolford and Nakenna Wolford; special niece: Rita (Percy) Canterbury; special nephew; Israel Hatfield; brother: Edgar Hatfield of Ohio; sisters; Wilma (Gene) Eversol, Ruby (Floyd) Riester, Rachael Hatfield, all of Ohio, and Lois (James) Trent of Wharncliffe; Kevin Goad, who he was like a second father to. He also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 6 to 9 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 12:00 pm with the Rev. Danny Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at Pie, WV.
Morris will be carried to his final resting place by his family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Ranse Cline, Joey Wolford, Justin Daniels, Austin Hatfield and Kevin Goad.
He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
