Nellie Ruth (Coleman) Lester

Nellie Ruth Lester, 83 of Mohawk, departed this life on November 15, 2017 from Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY.

Born September 15, 1934 at Elk Creek, KY, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Vernie (Hurley) Coleman.

In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her first husband Arvel Lee Justus; granddaughter: Holly Justus; grandson: Brodie Stacy; two brothers and four sisters.

Nellie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Nellie and to mourn her passing include her husband: David Lester of Mohawk; daughter: Donna (Kenneth) Sloane of Mohawk; three sons: Stanley (Nancy) Justus of Gilbert, Larry (Carol) Justus of Panther, Jerry Justus of Mohawk; grandchildren: Chad & Chrissy Sloane of Mohawk, Nick Sloane of Mohawk, Angie Wimmer of Mohawk, Josh Stacy of Mohawk; a very special great granddaughter: Kayleigh and a great grandson: Jacob; step-son: Chris Lester of Abington, VA; step-daughter: Lisa Stacy of Mohawk; step grandson: Ben Justus;  brothers: Kenny Coleman of Mohawk, Mayford Coleman of Mohawk, Mack Coleman of Long Pole, Hansel Coleman of Hurley, VA, Frank Coleman of Iaeger; sisters: Marie Cline of Lincolnton, NC, Barbara Bailey of Athens, WV,  Kathleen Cline of Princeton, WV.

Friends may gather with the family on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 6-9 pm at Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church, Guesses Fork, Hurley VA.  Funeral services will commence at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 18, 2017 with the Elder George Thomason and Elder Danny Hurley officiating.

Burial will follow at Coleman Cemetery at Bull Creek, WV.

Nellie will be carried to her final resting place by family and friends.

Her wonderful smile and tender heart will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
