Redith Mae (Walls) Kennedy

Redith Mae (Walls) Kennedy 68 of Simon, departed this life on Friday, March 2, 2018 from St. Mary’s Hospital after a long illness.

Born January 13, 1950 at Leatherwood, she was the daughter of the late Dallas Dewight and Dottie Lou Walls.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Issac Virgil Kennedy; son: Martie Ray Kennedy; 2 brothers: Davis Dewight Walls and Rocky Lane Walls.

Redith was a member of The Upper Room Jesus Name Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Redith and to mourn her passing include her children: Michelle (Pete) Welch of Whitman, Jody (Tanya) Kennedy of Simon, Jeremy (Tiffany) Kennedy of Ikes Fork, Eric Shawn (Tammy) Kennedy of Rock House; grandsons: Micky (Amber) Endicott Jr. of Monaville, Vaughn Mitchem of Hanover, Jody J Kennedy of Long Branch, Jeremy Payton Kennedy of Ikes Fork and Dylan Shawn Kennedy of Rockhouse; granddaughters: Brianna Nichole Welch and Britney Lynn Welch both of Whitman, Alexis Nicole Kennedy of Ikes Fork; three step-grandchildren: Dalton Browning, Mackenzie Kissinger and Mackenna Kissinger all of Ikes Fork; sister: Sandra (Jerome) Brown of Long Branch; four brothers: Curtis (Clarice) Walls, Vencil Walls, Jamie Walls all of Long Branch, Stephon (Lesa) Walls of Oceana; special nephew that she helped raise: Dalton Brady Walls of Long Branch; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family on Sunday, March 4th and Monday, March 5th after 6:00 pm at The Upper Room Jesus Name Church at  Simon, WV.  Funeral services will commence on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Bradley Kennedy and Rev. Chris Lester officiating.

Burial will follow in the Kennedy Family Cemetery at Long Branch.

Redith will be carried to her final resting place by her family.  Honorary pallbearer is Jerome Brown.

She is gone from our sight but never from our heart.
