Roy Edward Goff, Sr.

Roy Edward Goff, 75, of Gilbert, peacefully departed this life surrounded by his loved ones, Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Pikeville Medical Center.

Born on August 7, 1944 at Maher, WV., he was the son of the late Grant and Thelma Goff.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers: Lee Otis Goff, Charles Goff and Bill Goff; grandson: Tyler Dale May.

 Roy was a loving son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend.

He was a member of the Hanover Baptist Church, where he greatly enjoyed attending.  He was an Army Veteran.  He ran his own fencing company for over 45 years, where he was still working until his recent illness.  He loved more than anything spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren.

Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his loss are his children: Roy (Debbie) Goff, Susan (Scooter) Jude, Donna May and Crystal Browning; grandchildren: Ashlea Kirk, Sienna (Adam) White, Reese Goff, Seth Jude, Trey Goff, Allie Browning, Gage Browning, Emilee Browning, Harper Browning, Jillian Jude and Jacob Jude; great-grandchildren: Jaylon Walton, Lyric Walton, Jaidyn Tunstalle, LaRaina Tunstalle, Jaxxon Hosea and Colin White; sister: Agnes Simpson; brothers: Don (Flo) Goff, Jack (Dorothy) Goff; sister-in-law: Edith Goff; special lifelong friend: Merl Workman.  He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Monday, January 6, 2020 from 6 to 9 pm at the Hanover Missionary Baptist Church, Hanover, WV.  Funeral services will commence there at the Hanover Missionary Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jackie Lester officiating.

Burial will follow at the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery at Dunbar, WV.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

His Contagious smile and giving heart will greatly be missed by all that were fortunate to have known and loved him.
