Shirley Marie (Dotson) Hatfield

Shirley Marie (Dotson) Hatfield, 71 of Varney, departed this life Sunday, February 11, 2018 from Williamson Memorial Hospital.

Born April 28, 1946 at Glen Alum, she was the daughter of Goldie (Sparks) Dotson and the late Emmer Dotson.

In addition to her father she was also preceded in death by her son: Jamey Lee Eugene Hatfield; sister: Delana Cantrell; brothers: Darrell and Jerry Dotson.

Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved spending time with her friends and family.  She loved taking care of animals in need.  She was of the church of God Faith.

Those left to love and cherish her memory and to mourn her loss are her husband: Donald Richard Hatfield of Varney; her son: Donald (Ricky) Hatfield, Jr., and wife Sherri of Gilbert; brothers: Larry (Conda) Dotson of Justice and Jeffery (Judith) Dotson of Baisden; grandchildren: Christopher Hatfield, Johnathan and Whitney Hatfield, all of Gilbert, Amanda and Joey Crigger of Man; great-grandchildren: Aiden and Airiana Hatfield of Harrisville, Andria Lester of Man, and a very special niece and nephew: Brandon and Tori Dotson; her special friend, who was like a sister to her: Marcella Smith.  She also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 6 to 9 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Denny May and Rev. Danny Ward officiating.  Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Chapmanville, WV.

Shirley will be carried to her final resting place by Christopher and Johnathan Hatfield, Brandon and Bret Dotson, Adam Lester and Daniel Lester.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
