On Sunday March 3, 2019 at 3:30 pm, Stevie Carter, 58 departed this life to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Born August 1, 1960 at Man, WV he was the son of the late Ott and Mae Carter.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother: Curtis Carter; sisters: Irene Mulder and Juanita Church.
Stevie worked as both a coal miner and dozer operator for 30 years. More than anything he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved camping, boating, and fishing and especially throwing his nephew Casey Carter off the innertube.
Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his passing are his beloved wife Marie Carter of 37 years from Hanover; son: Stevie (Cindy) Carter of Coal Mountain; grandchildren: Haley and Brayden Carter of Coal Mountain; niece: Bretney Huff whom he loved like a daughter from Hanover; sister: Judy (Bennie) Triplett of Branchland; niece: Cassandra West Shelton of Branchland; nephews: Casey Carter of Huff Creek and Jamie West of Hanover; special cousins whom he loved dearly: Darlene Grimmett, Vivian Green, and Margie Caffrey; He also leaves behind a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends may gather with the family on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Big Cub Missionary Baptist Church from 6-9 pm. Funeral services will commence on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Louis Collings and Rev. Casey Carter officiating.
Burial will follow at Stevie Carter Cemetery at Hanover, WV.
Stevie will be carried to his final resting place by Dusty Huff, Isaiah Blankenship, Cameron Lester, Chandler Lester, Chris Stafford and Justin Sizemore.
He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
