Stoney Ross Ritchie

Stoney Ross Ritchie, 57, of Baisden, West Virginia, went home to be with Jesus and his Mommy, Lennie Ritchie, his Daddy, Virgil Ritchie, and his Step-Daddy, Woodrow Hensley on September 27, 2019, at his residence surrounded by his family and friends.  Stoney enjoyed 57 years of a life filled with love and constant care by his devoted mother along with his sisters and a brother.  In spite of his many physical and mental challenges, his family guaranteed his life was full and as comfortable as was possible. 

          Those left behind to recall the wonderful memories they enjoyed while spending time with Stoney are his sisters, Cathy (Robert) Billups, Donna (Tommy) Fortner, Eva (Leonard) Nicholas, and his brother, Avery (Vivian) Ritchie.  He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews as well as his loving care givers, Marsha Hatfield, Connie Reid, and Bobby Rollyson.

          Stoney’s life has provided many wonderful and perpetual blessings to his family.  These blessings will always be cherished until the time when we all are reunited with him in Heaven.  Stoney was God’s special gift to his family.  His mother’s enduring devotion to his care resulted in a total sacrifice of her own comfort and lead to a special bond among his siblings as they witnessed her undying love and sacrifice.  As a result, she taught them the true meaning of love of family.

          In keeping with his mother’s wishes, the family has chosen to honor Stoney with a private memorial service at 1:00, Sunday, September 29 in the Chapel at Mounts Funeral Home.  The Reverend  Jim Nagy and Timer May will officiate.  He will then be placed at the Virgil Ritchie Memorial Garden by the side of his mom and dad.
