Tommy Dwayne Lester

Tommy Dwayne Lester, 47 of Wharncliffe, departed this life on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born January 8, 1972 at Man, WV he was the son of the late Larry and Betty Lester.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Pernell Lester and Anthony Lester; sister: Cynthia Berry; his grandparents: Gerald & Virginia Marsingill and Sherman & Minnie Lester; uncle: Jerry Lester; aunt: Marcella Lester.

Tommy was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, nephew and friend.  Tommy was an avid hunter.  He especially enjoyed coon hunting.  He would also deer hunt, fish, and fight chickens.    

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Tommy and to mourn his passing include his two beautiful daughters: Destiny (Donald Shelton) Wolford of Michigan, Brooklyn Lester of Monroe County, WV; his brother: Eric (Missy) Lester of Dingess; three aunts: Tina (Eugene) Goodman of Baisden, Debbie Lewis of Beckley and Ileen Cline of Hanover; uncle: Leon Lester of Man; half- brother: David Sparks of Wharncliffe; his ex-wife’s: Heather Johnson and Sally Dunn; a special friend: Joann Cline of Wharncliffe; many nieces and nephews and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family on Monday, June 3, 2019 at the Wharncliffe Church of God at Wharncliffe, WV from 6:00 – 9:00 pm with a special service beginning at 7:00 pm.  Funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the Wharncliffe Church of God with the Rev. Ricky Endicott and Rev. Donald Robinette officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oak Log Cemetery at Baisden, WV.

Tommy will be carried to his final resting place by: Nathan Hall, Blake Wolford, Don Shelton, Jamie Lester, and Daniel Johnson.  Honorary pallbearers include: Larry Wolford and Eric Lester.

He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
