Alice M. (May) Trent

Alice M. Trent, 93 of Tamcliffe, departed this life Tuesday, October 27, 2020 from Tug Valley ARH Medical Center.

Born on March 15, 1927 at Wharncliffe, she was the daughter of the late Ellison and Daisy Dale (Stanley) May.

In addition to her parents, Alice is also preceded in death by her husband of 29 years: Forrest Dennis Trent; daughters: Barbara Faye “Bobbie” Trent, Betty Jean Surber, Francis Ann “Panky” Kelton; sister: Helen Gibson; brothers: Lee May, Greely Junior May and Jeff May; sons-in-law: Harry Simpson and Larry Kelton.

Alice enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and attending church.  She loved spending time with her family and friends, and she got great joy from spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was of the Baptist Faith.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are her daughters: Linda Simpson of Illinois, and Edith Marie (Jim) Elmore of Virginia; grandchildren: Lori, Teri, Lisa, Forrest, Connie, Pam and Angie; 12 great grandchildren; her son-in-law, with whom she made her home: Alfred Surber of Gilbert; her caregivers: Lora Cline, Karen Fowler, and Annie Mullins.  Alice also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.

A private visitation was held Friday, October 30, 2020 at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, where funeral services commenced at 1:00 pm with Rev. Lowell Smith officiating.

Burial followed in the Verner Community Cemetery at Verner, WV.

Alice was carried to her resting place by her family and friends.

She may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
