Alma (Lester) Belcher

Alma Joyce Belcher, 87 of Spice Creek departed this life on Monday, October 29, 2019 from her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born September 3, 1932 at Leatherwood, WV she was the daughter of the late Auldie & Angie (Browning) Lester.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband: James Belcher; three infant sisters: Rebecca, Georgia and Marcella Lester; three sisters: Lorrain Azar, Grethel Walls and Eathel Bobbitt; two brothers: Frank Lester, Bueford “Boots” Lester.

Alma was a loving daughter, wife, sister, aunt and friend. She was a devoted and faithful christian and was an avid member of the Christian Freewill Baptist Church at Christian.  She loved to garden and pick greens. 

  Those left to love and cherish the memory of Alma and to mourn her passing include her three brothers: Buel (Helen) Lester of Verner,  Gerald (Liz) Lester of Foster, Blaine (Sue) Lester of Chapmanville; two sisters: Bethel Morgan of Clear Fork and Margaret (Fred) Hatfield of Kerner; many nieces and nephews and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Christian Freewill Baptist Church at Christian from 6-9 pm.  Funeral services will commence on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the church with the Rev. Mike Johnson, Rev. Roger Browning and Rev. Jackie Jessie officiating.

Burial will follow at Skyline Cemetery at Justice, WV.

Alma will be carried to her final resting place by family and friends.

Her beautiful smile and tender heart will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
